I wrote a book about preaching.

It's available now.

Preaching is not an art, it’s a craft and that is good news for anyone who is called to preach but this book doesn’t just offer good news for preachers - it also offers a lot of very practical help.

When you are learning a craft, you often start with some formal training and then move on to an apprenticeship under an experienced veteran. That’s where you learn how to put all that theory into practice and pick up the additional real world approaches they didn’t cover in the classroom. Sermon Craft aims to be that veteran mentor and that practical apprenticeship in book form.

In less than two years since first being published Sermon Craft is now being used in the official curriculum of four different schools to aid in the development of future preachers.

You can purchase Sermon Craft on Amazon in Canada,  The United States, and a bunch of other countries. Or, if you want to wait till the next time we are in the same place, you can buy it directly from me at a discount. Bulk discounts are available as well.

You can email me to order your copy or a whole box of them.

If you are into preaching check out this episode of the Back Corner Podcast where me and my friends Brent Ingersoll (co-host) and AJ Plaizier (guest) talk a lot about the craft of preaching in general and a little bit about my book Sermon Craft specifically.

"I approached Sermon Craft as a book for new preachers. Boy, was I wrong. I was enthralled, entertained, and, on a few occasions, skewered. AJ not only preaches as he speaks but writes as he speaks, and in doing so, he brings the full power of his many gifts to bear: his humour, authenticity, razor-sharp insight, creativity, commanding authority and most importantly, his love for the Lord and His Word."
